PHYSICS

learn to study physics

Hello students! I hope your studies for Physics are going smoothly and if you are stuck in an intricate maze, now it’s time for you to gear up to break this maze.

Sometimes although we want to, we just don’t know the way for it. Anyone can sagely point out a way for you but it’s all up to you. Until you don’t actually have that unbridled enthusiasm to break this intricate maze of uncertainties followed by fear, it will always look like an inevitable mountain to you.

Physics is that intricate maze which can keep us hanging at a ‘corner’ gazing its wide dimensions. But you see, I am telling you it’s a maze and its keys are all linked to each other in a network of channels. You should not keep hanging at an end but march forward to second, to third and the last one.

“More you dive into it,

More it will come into your grasp;

The key is not to hold only a part,

But a complete maze altogether…”

WHERE SHOULD I START?

OPEN THE LATEST PREVIOUS YEAR PAPER

I know this is too simple and everybody knows about it, but you are not doing it right. You will know how?

YOU ARE WRONG IF…

  1. If you think let me complete all the syllabus and then I will solve questions.
  2. If you think that let me complete all questions of a chapter then another chapter and the next and… that’s how you plan to complete syllabus.
  3. If you keep ignoring physics because it’s too difficult.
  4. If you don’t ask doubts and leave that topic there only.
  5. If you don’t have time for it because of bio and chemistry.
  6. If you spend 2-3 hours behind a single question.
  7. If you are running behind different sets of 5-star books.

THEN WHAT IS RIGHT?

  • SOLVE QUESTIONS NOW , NOT AFTER ‘Syllabus is done’ , YOU WILL NEVER HAVE SUFFICIENT TIME TO SOLVE PREVIOUS YEARS PAPERS

Exactly which syllabus are you referring because there is no theory in physics (I mean there is ‘a set of lines & formulas’ for each chapter & that’s it).

“You won’t be able to move forward in Physics if you blissfully think that your syllabus is done because you have read the ‘so called theory’.”

[Theory is there in biology where unless you grasp the whole theory, you will be ‘half-armored’ just by solving questions as there will be loop-holes in your knowledge.]

When it comes to physics, there are just ‘a few lines’ which you need to understand by solving questions.

Don’t wait for the syllabus to be completed before you solve previous years papers as its time for you ‘not to grasp knowledge’ but to focus on ‘what will be asked’.

SOLVING 10 QUESTIONS OF VARIETY IS FAR ABOVE THAN SOLVING 200 QUESTIONS OF A TOPIC

Absolutely stunning to plan a strategy where you will be solving 200 questions of a chapter and then 200 questions of another chapter and that’s how you plan to complete your syllabus.

You will keep hanging at a part of maze which will give you 2-3 questions that you will surely do right but then what about other questions?

The point is you have a vast syllabus and very less time to cover it, so focus and spend it wisely.

Your strategy works well when you were studying those chapters but now look at the time buddy; from here solving 100 questions of a type is far below than solving 10 questions of varieties.

This variety will be provided to you by your previous years papers as they cover whole syllabus.

Aren’t you after ‘whole syllabus’ then do it in an effective way.

BUT HOW WILL I SOLVE PHYSICS QUESTIONS BEFORE COMPLETING CHAPTERS?

Buddy, follow the following steps-

  1. Solve a question
  2. Don’t know what it is
  3. Check solution- Now you know the topic, chapter, formula but don’t know how it’s done.
  4. It’s okay the key was to find out topic, now as you know the topic, read its complete theory and solve 10-20 questions.
  5. Now come back to solve that question again.
  6. You not only completed a question but also finished a topic related to it.
  7. Go for the next question.
  8. It will take so much time to solve a paper?

Of course, you are completing whole syllabus, so reach that point where you will know all questions without checking out for them.

  • ITS NOT POSSIBLE TO SOLVE A SINGLE QUESTION, EVERYTHING IS HAPHAZRD IN MY BRAIN

Cool, don’t be anxious.

Just by staring question it won’t tell its solution.

“In physics answer has less value,

Then the solution of how it’s done”

  1. Now start with the first question – don’t know
  2. Follow the steps I told before
  3. I can’t understand the topic
  4. Then write down the topic in your ‘Doubt notebook’
  5. Second question- Okay now you got two topics in your doubt notebook.

Go to doubt counter/ to your teacher, and ask not the topic but the question.

When they teach you the question, point out the step that you don’t understand. Be it the silliest one, ask it, nothing like ‘being a champ’ matters over here.

At your room, solve questions related to it and take out the ‘core part’ that you understand.

“Write it down in your question book”

  • This concept is really precious

“Remember it’s going to be tough, but gear up don’t back down, that feeling when a question is solved after so much ‘tussle’ is majestically amazing.”

  • DON’T SPEND A DAY ON A SINGLE QUESTION!

Ask it in doubt counter, look at its solution, learn the way it is done. There are some ‘standard questions’ that has a certain way in which they are done, don’t waste time too much to understand every detail of it.

Spend this time on many other topics that you need to cover.

  • “This book is good, that book is great – don’t spend time being reviewer of books.

Focus on your exercise book (the main book that you are following), notes and papers.

After you have grasped them all then only you are ready for exam; after that if you want you can look through other books but as such that won’t be required.

“Keeping your resources concise and practicing them again and again is what matters most.”

I DON’T HAVE TIME FOR PHYSICS

It is because physics take lots of time to finally settle in our head. You need to read, solve, ask, review then solve again, then you will finally understand the concept.

Still kid, you need to take out some extra time for it and follow all the steps without skipping any of them, because once you managed to do so, physics will not betray you.

If you solve with basic alertness, if you know the question… you will definitely do it right.

Physics is all about whether you know it or you don’t; it’s a lovely subject, but kind of twisted.
