Who Will Win the Australian Grand Prix This Year?
  • By Dr. AK Rana

After what feels like an eternity, the Australian Grand Prix is finally upon us!

The speculation is wild—who’s got the speed, the power, the dominance?

Max Verstappen himself has already added fuel to the fire, saying:

.

“I won’t be winning the Australian Grand Prix, McLaren’s gonna take that. The car needs to improve a lot, and we’ll slowly do that as the season progresses.”

Wow. Honesty at its finest! So, is McLaren really the team to beat? Everyone saw this coming, but what about Ferrari? Mercedes?

Lewis Hamilton doesn’t seem too thrilled after pre-season testing.

Reason?

The Ferrari doesn’t look like an unstoppable force, and Mercedes is… fine. Red Bull is just “okay” by their own high standards.

With McLaren hyped up, the rest of the grid appears surprisingly even, setting the stage for tight battles and unpredictable race winners.

Good for us fans—but definitely nerve-wracking for the drivers!

2025 Rookies: The Chaos Factor – Australian Grand Prix

With so many fresh faces on the grid, expect fireworks. The high-pressure seats? Kimi alongside George Russell at Mercedes, and Liam Lawson partnering Verstappen at Red Bull. And we all know what happens to Max’s teammates… history hasn’t been too kind.

Zack Doohan is the next one as Colapinto is lurking in the shadows, waiting for his chance. Meanwhile, the least-pressured rookies—Ollie and Bortoleto—can focus on steady performances without the weight of sky-high expectations.

McLaren’s Dilemma: Constructors or Drivers’ Title?

McLaren finally has a championship-winning car—but will they throw away a shot at the Drivers’ title in pursuit of the Constructors’? The real battle isn’t just against Red Bull and Ferrari, but within their own garage. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri both want the crown. Who will McLaren back? The long-time hero or the rising star? Or will they let them fight it out on track?

Definitely, they won’t want any crashes taking away points from constructors championship and will support only one – the team!

The Bigger Picture: 2026 Regulations Looming

With massive regulation changes coming in 2026, teams are already split between focusing on this season and preparing for the next era. Expect constant upgrades and strategic gambles throughout 2025. This transition year could be a wild one.

The Dream: Lewis’ 8th or McLaren’s Long-Awaited Glory?

One of the biggest storylines? Lewis Hamilton’s last shot at that record-breaking 8th title. But will McLaren steal the show and finally take home the silverware they’ve chased for years? If they do, can they handle the inevitable Norris-Piastri clash?

Oh, and in case you missed it—Liam Lawson had an interesting moment in a recent meme reaction video, trying out a voice that didn’t quite sound like him. Thankfully, by the end of the clip, he dropped the act. Liam, mate, your real voice is great. No need for the theatrics!
