Oscar Piastri lost Imola GP due to a big mistake?

We all must have wondered—how could the formidable Oscar Piastri, the cold-blooded racer with a 100% pole-to-win conversion rate, lose the Imola Grand Prix?
It all began at Turn 1.
A shocking move by Max Verstappen snatched Piastri’s lead right at the start.
Some criticized Oscar for not being aggressive enough. When asked, he calmly responded:

“I didn’t think much about it at the time. I believed I would overtake him easily—just like it’s been so far.”
That moment perfectly summed it up:

From believing in McLaren’s pace to being overconfident in it, and ultimately underestimating Max Verstappen—that’s where it all went wrong for Oscar.
Because you can underestimate Red Bull’s car, but never Max Verstappen.
He is the team.
And for Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri—if they’re serious about the championship—keeping Max out of the race equation is not an option.

Because once Max starts winning, he makes it his every-race habit.
Not to mention, Red Bull arrived in Imola with updates—and they worked.
Red Bull thrives on fast corners, as we saw at the Japanese Grand Prix. That may have played a role too, as McLaren’s package tends to carry a bit more downforce, potentially costing them on straight-line exits and fast sweeps.
Oscar Piastri, the man who rarely puts a foot wrong, proved he’s human.
And that’s the scary part—for the others.
Because when Oscar makes a mistake, he tends to bounce back with ten times more fire.
We’d love to see that.
So let it be so.
Oscar Piastri is still championship leader but he can’t ignore that although McLaren is strong but other teams are not so far, and a tiny miss will take the win away in milli seconds, that’s what formula 1 is for you, even more this year!
