Why Does Max Verstappen Claim 5 Wins in Austria? Exclusive

- By Dr. AK Rana
In the high-octane world of Formula 1, stats matter. But if there’s one driver whose word on victories you’d never second-guess, it’s Max Verstappen.
During the pre-race interview ahead of the Austrian GP 2025, a seemingly harmless question sparked a mini storm in the F1 community.
…
“You’ve won 4 times here, how is the confidence?”
That’s what the interviewer said.
Max paused.
Raised an eyebrow.
And corrected him with a quiet confidence only a four-time world champion can carry:
…
“It’s 5 wins, not 4.”
The interviewer insisted again,
…
“No, it’s 4 wins. The 5th will be next.”
Max didn’t budge:
…
“It’s 5 wins! Anyway, I’m always confident for Austrian GP and I’ll strive for the podium for sure.”
And just like that, Formula 1 fans were off to the races — not on track, but in stat books, Reddit threads, and Wikipedia edits.
Because when Max Verstappen says a number, you don’t doubt it. You double-check yours.
Turns out, Max may have a point.
…
The Real Austrian GP Confusion
In 2021, COVID rearranged the F1 calendar, and several tracks hosted back-to-back races under different names. The Red Bull Ring in Austria was one of them.
It hosted two races — the Styrian GP and the Austrian GP, both run on the same track just a week apart.
Max won both races.
…
But if you ask him — and many fans agree — both were Austrian GPs in spirit, and that makes it five wins, not four.
So maybe Wikipedia isn’t wrong.
Maybe Max isn’t either.
It’s just one of those quirky F1 things.
And in F1, if Max Verstappen corrects your stats, maybe it’s time to update your source.
…
What’s Next for Max Verstappen?
Despite a rocky Spanish GP, where a 10-second penalty saw Max finish P10, and a few whispers of driver penalty points piling up, the Dutchman remains unshaken.
Whether it’s rumours of him leaving Red Bull, switching to Mercedes or Aston Martin, or even stepping away to conquer Le Mans or Spa — one thing is constant:
…
Max Verstappen races to win.
The Austrian GP always hits different.
Orange smoke.
Roaring fans.
And no — it’s not the papaya army, if you know, you know.
Championship 2025 may not be cruising smoothly, and with every point lost, the title fight gets spicier.
…
But F1 isn’t about early predictions.
It’s about pushing to the last lap, and nobody embodies that fight like Max does.
He might even bring back his iconic #33 next season if things don’t pan out. But one thing’s for sure — neither Max nor his fans are giving up on that 5th World Title.
F1 is Wild.
So, Stay Tuned.
In Formula 1, fire meets water.
Chaos meets precision.
And legends are forged in the final corners.
So, whether you’re Team Max, Team Lewis, Team Oscar, Team Lando or just here for the drama, remember — it’s never over until the chequered flag waves.
