The adrenaline still fresh in his veins, no analysis done, no debrief, no time to breathe\u2014and bang!<\/strong> What&#8217;s happening in F1?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A reporter shoots the question:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>&#8220;Was that collision with George Russell intentional?&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Seriously?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>And just when you think it couldn\u2019t get more absurd, the reporter adds:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>&#8220;What would you like to say to all the people and kids watching you?&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Kids?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now F1 drivers need to tailor their raw, emotional, post-race reactions for a PG audience?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s be honest here\u2014Formula 1 is not Bluey. It\u2019s not an animated feel-good fantasy designed to raise your kids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s a high-stakes, ultra-competitive sport where machines fly at 300 km\/h, and emotions sometimes fly even faster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s the parents\u2019 job to explain things to kids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Or hey, here\u2019s a wild idea:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Change the channel if you&#8217;re worried little Timmy might hear an F-bomb or see a frustrated reaction.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Do people really believe 6-year-olds are watching post-race press conferences by themselves, latte in hand, analyzing Verstappen\u2019s media etiquette?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Let&#8217;s get real: kids aren\u2019t watching post-race interviews. And if they are, they\u2019re probably sitting next to an adult who can put things into perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This isn&#8217;t just about one awkward question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s about the larger trend of turning Formula 1 into a reality TV show, where raw emotion isn\u2019t embraced but exploited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Let\u2019s poke him, let\u2019s press him\u2014let\u2019s see if someone loses it on camera.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Let\u2019s make it \u201cgo viral.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>All wrapped up in a &#8220;think of the children&#8221; disguise.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>But here\u2019s a thought: how about conducting interviews after a few hours or even the next day?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let drivers cool off, digest the race first!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Imagine this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>A reporter walks up to you right after you&#8217;ve had an argument in a cafe, camera in your face, and asks,<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cDo you regret it? And remember, kids are watching.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Absurd, right?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>That\u2019s F1 media now.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>And if we\u2019re so concerned about what kids learn from sport, how about looking at football?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Players diving, faking injuries, yelling at refs\u2014it\u2019s basically a masterclass in dramatics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Should that be banned too?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s not sugarcoat this\u2014F1 is turning into entertainment content with a motorsport skin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Constantly tightening regulations, forcing kid-safe narratives, and policing every emotion&#8230; it\u2019s not just the drivers who are frustrated. Fans feel it too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So what\u2019s the fix?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two simple solutions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Let post-race media interactions happen later, with a clearer mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. If you&#8217;re worried about your kid, just switch off the TV after the race.
