Just a few smiles in front of the cameras and the show goes on.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians raised more than just eyebrows\u2014it raised questions. Big ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s talk about the moment that summed it all up:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deepak Chahar bowled to Ishan Kishan. There was no appeal. The entire stadium went silent. And then\u2014out of nowhere\u2014the umpire raised his finger. A delayed, awkward gesture. Suddenly, like someone shouted &#8220;cue!&#8221;, Chahar and the fielders began appealing\u2014after the decision was already made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And what about Ishan Kishan? No DRS, no confusion, no argument. He just smiled and walked away. His team was in deep trouble, yet he had no urge to fight it. Almost like&#8230; he knew the script.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>What a match. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What a script.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And we\u2019re the audience getting played.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>We spend hours, emotions, energy\u2014while they earn from an outcome that might already be decided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mumbai Indians has often been under the scanner for alleged fixing, and last night\u2019s match felt like a brutal confirmation of those suspicions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But hey, it\u2019s IPL. Team management will read out their rehearsed PR lines. Maybe the umpire will be blamed, or it&#8217;ll be called a &#8220;miscommunication.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So many excuses, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Match-fixing is not just a &#8220;mistake.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s a betrayal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It kills the soul of the sport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> It deserves real consequences\u2014not just apologies tucked behind press conferences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Everyone jokes that IPL is fixed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of us believed otherwise\u2014because with so many cameras and eyes, how can anyone get away with it?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>But now? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even that belief is hanging by a thread.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So what do we do?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Celebrate the wins? Mourn the losses? Or clap for a well-directed drama, with cricket as just a backdrop?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(HA&#8230; HA&#8230; HA)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s both infuriating and hilarious\u2014how they mock the very fans who cry when their favorite player gets out, who celebrate every boundary like it&#8217;s personal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then again, this is the same fan base that made a girl Insta-famous because of her reaction to MS Dhoni getting out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That says a lot. And it&#8217;s kind of&#8230; hypocritical, isn&#8217;t it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And now, Rajasthan Royals is facing similar allegations. SRH may be next in line.
