But what about Antonelli, a rookie still adapting to the car and F1\u2019s high-pressure environment?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After Practice 2, Antonelli was optimistic,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> saying in an interview:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>&#8220;I am getting more and more confident with every lap and with the car. I will be doing great, I think.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>He was finally getting comfortable, but Mercedes&#8217; gamble threw him off. In Practice 1, he had already struggled on mediums, while his performance on soft tyres,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> in Practice 2 had been impressive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>So why make this risky move? Were they only considering Russell\u2019s perspective?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Realizing that mediums were ruining his qualifying, Antonelli rushed back to the pits for softs. But the time lost added pressure, and in his haste to put in a lap, he ran into the gravel, damaging his car\u2019s floor. That ultimately sealed his fate\u2014eliminated in Q1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most heartbreaking moment?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hearing him ask his engineer,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&#8220;Did we make it through?&#8221;\u2014and receiving only silence in response.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s his first qualifying session, so there\u2019s no need for panic. But decisions like these can shake a young driver\u2019s confidence. Mercedes must ensure their strategies support both drivers\u2014one with years of experience and one just beginning his journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>It\u2019s okay, Kimi.
