Because not everyone can do commentary.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Makes Good Commentary?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>1. Sports and entertainment are different arenas. You may be a great entertainer, but this isn\u2019t that stage. Sports commentary demands a different skill set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. No one tunes in for poetic musings. We don\u2019t need mountains, skies, or motivational speeches\u2014we need cricket talk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Commentary should sync with the game. It should rise with the tension, pause where needed, and never feel like an unrelated noise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Close your eyes, and you should still feel the match. Good commentary paints a picture so vivid that you don\u2019t need visuals to follow the game.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>This was never about language. It\u2019s not that Hindi commentary is inherently bad\u2014it\u2019s that what we got didn\u2019t feel like actual sports commentary. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I understand that TV channels want to make it an all-around spectacle, but let\u2019s not forget\u2014this isn\u2019t a live reality show. It\u2019s cricket. In-between overs, sure, talk about players, add some flavor, but don\u2019t drift away from the game entirely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Looking Ahead: IND vs NZ on March 2<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With India already in the semi-finals, the match against New Zealand will be less about pressure and more about fine-tuning before the knockouts. Regardless, it\u2019ll be interesting to watch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Broadcasters, if you\u2019re reading this\u2014commentary should seamlessly blend with the game. When it doesn\u2019t, it turns into an irritating distraction, ruining the experience.
