The Three Main Sources<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. Carbon Capture Fuel<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CO\u2082 is captured directly from the atmosphere or industrial emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s combined with green hydrogen (produced using renewable energy and water) to create synthetic hydrocarbons \u2014 basically, artificial petrol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>It\u2019s often called e-fuel or synthetic fuel.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Biomass Waste Fuel<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Made from non-food biological materials like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Agricultural waste (husks, straw)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Forestry residues (sawdust, wood chips)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Algae or manure<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These are fermented or refined into usable hydrocarbons (similar to how ethanol is made).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. Municipal Waste Derived Fuel<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Everyday garbage, plastics, or landfill waste can be chemically processed and transformed into usable fuel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It helps reduce landfill load and creates a cleaner fuel source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Key point: No fossil fuels involved.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>No drilling oil from the ground.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>This makes the fuel sustainable, not just less polluting.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why It\u2019s a Big Deal in F1 and Beyond<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. Net Zero Emissions (Carbon-Neutral)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The total carbon released from an F1 car using this fuel will be equal to the carbon that was pulled from the environment to make it. So, no net addition to global CO\u2082.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Same Performance, Better Planet<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FIA has committed to making sure the fuel doesn\u2019t reduce performance. It will still:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Power engines over 1000 HP<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Survive extreme combustion temperatures<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Work with hybrid energy recovery units (ERS)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This proves that going green doesn\u2019t mean going slow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3.
