AK RANA<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>ADHD is Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ADHD usually revolve around difficulty in concentrating, completing the assigned task and not able to plan and manage their time effectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-pale-ocean-gradient-background has-background\"><strong><u>SYMPTOMS OF ADHD<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-blush-light-purple-gradient-background has-background\"><strong>ATTENTION DEFICIT-<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\">\n<li>It is difficult to look into details.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Not being able to focus at one thing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is easy to get distracted. For example, with the noise or a car passing by.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Disorganized work habits. Not following time table, plans and always lagging behind deadlines.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Always try to avoid slower and boring tasks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lack of concentration on communication.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leaving things in between and not completing them till end.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Forgetting things like keys, wallets or spending lots of time searching things around.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Losing objects.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-blush-light-purple-gradient-background has-background\"><strong>HYPERACTIVITY\/ IMPULSIVITY<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\">\n<li>Feeling restless.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Not being able to wait for your turn to speak or for any other task.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Jump\/run\/fall (injuries are common)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interrupting a conversation or when a person is speaking. It is done either to complete the other person\u2019s sentence or to speak what they want.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Always full of energy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is difficult to control emotion, especially anger or when things are not going according to them and they are not so good at handling such situations.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>At least 6 symptoms should be positive for attention deficit and 6 symptoms for hyperactivity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Onset of symptoms should be &lt;12 years of age.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"867\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/halleysclinic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/image-867x1024.png\" alt=\"ADHD features\" class=\"wp-image-102\" srcset=\"https:\/\/halleysclinic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/image-867x1024.png 867w, https:\/\/halleysclinic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/image-254x300.png 254w, https:\/\/halleysclinic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/image-768x907.png 768w, https:\/\/halleysclinic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/image-600x708.png 600w, https:\/\/halleysclinic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/image.png 979w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 867px) 100vw, 867px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Symptoms of attention and concentration start from childhood. These might change as we grow older.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Usually 40-50% children with ADHD may develop ADHD symptoms in adulthood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When it is concerned with adults, they are usually moody and are not able to handle stress efficiently (stress intolerance).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They often lose control on themselves or going with the impulse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Temper tantrums\/ rage and procrastination are also seen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-pale-ocean-gradient-background has-background\"><strong><u>MANAGEMENT OF ADHD<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-blush-light-purple-gradient-background has-background\"><strong>PHARMACOLOGICAL MANAGEMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stimulants \u2013 Methylphenidate<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Non-stimulants \u2013 Atomoxetine (SNRI): initial choice in adult ADHD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clonidine and Guanfacine (alpha 2 agonist)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-blush-light-purple-gradient-background has-background\"><strong>NON-PHARMACOLOGICAL MANAGEMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>CBT processes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Distractions need to be reduced<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These days notifications of messages and posts \u2018pop-up\u2019 at any time on mobile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We leave all our work and open it to see it. After it, we won\u2019t resume the work just like that but will spend some more time on mobile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Again after 10-15 minutes, another notification comes up. If not this, then we would be looking at the mobile, hoping to see a notification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Person is motivated to keep working on the task for the fixed hours, without getting distracted.
